Programm
Exactly 45 years after the Orchestra della Toscana‘s first concert, the ORT returns to play for its city with a special evening: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart‘s Requiem, conducted by its principal conductor Diego Ceretta, on 10 September in the Basilica di Santa Croce.
An out-of-season event, conceived as a gesture of gratitude to the public and the territory, with free admission upon reservation.
The last unfinished score by the composer from Salzburg, the Requiem remains one of the highest peaks of Western sacred music: dramatic tension, expressive depth, theatrical impetus coexist in a rigorous structure that faces the abyss.
Diego Ceretta leads the ORT in a work that speaks of the end, but also of continuity. A way of celebrating not only the history of an orchestra, but its living present, in dialogue with the city and its time.
