Getting here

Being in the city centre, the theatre is within easy walking distance. Here are the distances and walking times from:

• Piazza del Duomo (750 metres, 9 minutes)
• Oltrarno Piazza Pitti (1.3 km, 16 minutes)
• Piazza S. Marco (1.2 km, 14 minutes)
• Piazza Beccaria (1 km, 12 minutes)

Numerous lines of Autolinee Toscane, the sole company managing the regional transport of the RATP group, have a bus stop near the theatre.

The main train station in Florence is Santa Maria Novella. However, many long-distance and local trains also stop at Campo di Marte station. The theatre can be reached in both cases by public transport or on foot. Here are the distances and walking times from:

• Piazza Stazione SMN (1.5 km to the Theatre, a pleasant walk of about 19 minutes)
• Campo di Marte station (1.7 km., approximately 21 minutes)

The theatre is located inside the ZTL (limited traffic area). It is not possible to enter this area by private car from 7:30 am to 8 pm on weekdays and on Saturdays from 7:30 am to 4 pm.
Nearby, but outside the ZTL area there are two large underground car parks open 24 hours a day managed by Firenze Parcheggi

• Sant’Ambrogio park, Piazza Annigoni 9 car park (underground, entrance Via Paolieri) open 24 hours a day – 379 parking spaces, rate for a car from 1 to 3 euros per hour or part thereof, also accessible via Telepass (600 metres from the theatre | 8′ walk)
• Beccaria car park (underground, entrance Viale Amendola 7) open 24 hours a day – 210 parking spaces, rate for a car 1.70 euros per hour or part thereof, also accessible via Telepass (1 km | 12′ walk to theatre)

Alternatively, you can park in a garage located inside the limited traffic area. In that case, upon arriving at the car park, the garage manager will have to report the license plate to the Municipality system to avoid a fine. These are privately-managed public car parks.

Exclusively for ORT concerts, there is also the possibility of using a free shuttle service provided by taxis. The cars travel from Via Ghibellina (corner of Viale Giovine Italia) to Teatro Verdi (and vice versa at the end of the performances). The service runs from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm (from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on December 24th) and at the end of the concert.

Detailed information, fares, route calculation and flat options are available on both sites. During shows, a free taxi call service is available thanks to a steward present at the exit of the theatre. The call is free, you only pay the fare.
