Programme:
Alessandro Solbiati / Eine Tanzende Stern (A Dancing Star), concerto for piano four hands and orchestra – commissioned by the ORT Foundation, world premiere
Ludwig van Beethoven / Symphony No. 3 Op. 55 ‘Eroica’
A world premiere and a central work from Beethoven’s repertoire make up the programme conducted by Riccardo Bisatti.
To open the concert, the Orchestra della Toscana presents Eine Tanzende Stern (A Dancing Star), a concerto for piano four hands and orchestra in its world premiere, commissioned by the ORT Foundation from Alessandro Solbiati, featuring Bruno Canino and Antonio Ballista. The presence of two performers with deep roots in Italy’s musical history lends particular significance to this new commission.
The programme concludes with Symphony No. 3, Op. 55 “Eroica” by Ludwig van Beethoven, a work central to the transformation of nineteenth-century symphonic language.
