Orchestra della Toscana
Yutaka Sado conductor
***
Programme:
Franz Joseph Haydn / Symphony No. 86
Ludwig van Beethoven / Symphony No. 7, Op. 92
Franz Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven are the two composers chosen for Yutaka Sado’s return to the podium of the Orchestra della Toscana.
The concert opens with Haydn’s Symphony No. 86, one of the six ‘Paris’ symphonies, characterised by formal clarity, timbral variety and brilliant orchestration. The work demonstrates Haydn’s taste for contrast and for an ever-changing orchestral structure.
This is followed by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, Op. 92, a work dominated by a strong rhythmic energy and a continuous flow that has made it one of the most celebrated pieces in Beethoven’s catalogue.
