a fairy tale by and starring Bustric
music by Sergei Prokofiev
conductor Carlomoreno Volpini
Orchestra della Toscana
‘Peter and the Wolf is a musical fairy tale that is usually read by an actor whilst an orchestra plays. It is an educational fairy tale designed to teach children how to listen to music. The version of *Pierino* I have created is not simply read but also acted out: the story unfolds. The narrator becomes the character being narrated. It is a full-fledged musical performance where elements imagined through pantomime and sleight of hand are actually brought to life. Thus, the music becomes an adventurous journey into the world of the fairy tale, part real and part imaginary. We could describe this *Pierino and the Wolf* as a ‘Theatre Concert’. PS: I chose the wolf because he’s scary»
(Sergio Bini, stage name Bustric)
